You’ll notice these material selections within the new headquarters, giving the building a modern yet professional aesthetic. Throughout the building you will recognize hints of Viking Blue in the carpets and cafe walls, matched with solid neutral colors and accent wood paneling to bring it all together.
Excitement for moving day is growing at our Grand Rapids and Hastings offices! As Viking’s Information Services team and our partners at Custer work diligently to provide the groundwork for a smooth transition, many staff members are eagerly awaiting their move to the new facility.
Staff from our Grand Rapids office will be the first to move in and work in the new facility. With a transition to the Caledonia headquarters in late August, this group – which includes the executive team, sales support, marketing, and inventory & transportation – will work in the new building for a few weeks as a “test drive” before the larger group of Viking team members arrives from Hastings. Hastings employees who have been assigned to the new Caledonia headquarters will move into their new office spaces in mid to late September.
The Viking Change Agent Team recently toured the construction site of Viking’s new Headquarters in Caledonia, MI. The members of this committee were selected by leadership from different areas of the company and act as a liaison between their teams and those designing the new space.
The change agents meet bi-weekly to discuss specifics about the Caledonia facility, reporting questions and concerns from their teammates, as well as developing “best policies” for the move. They are the eyes and ears for Viking leadership, ensuring that all employees feel prepared for the move to the new facility.
“Those of us on the Change Management team know how important it is to maintain an open mind throughout the entire process,” said Kyle Reeves, a change agent representing the Inventory Replenishment team. “We are all one team, working for a great organization that demonstrates employee involvement.”
