First Impressions

It’s been over a week since a handful of employees moved into the new building. We asked a few team members how they like their new working environment. Here is what they had to say:

“So far my two favorite work spaces are Leelanau and Torch . I feel as if the new building shows we are invested in our employees and signifies a bright future for Viking as a whole and brings excitement to its employees to see what the future holds.” – Russell Werra

“I love the new building for its unique ability to offer us both better collaboration or privacy opportunities. With all the meeting rooms, it’s much easier to sit with your team and work together, but there are also private enclaves that allow you to step away from the office space and get some work done quietly.” – Darby Oswald

“The new office allows for a momentous increase in motivation. From the different types of conference rooms, high tops, and open office space it truly shows how Viking continues to value and invest in its employees. I feel, within the next 3-6 months, the different types of opportunities to grow within the corporation will be tremendous.” – Kyle Reeves

There are so many great aspects to our new home … I don’t know where to start.  I am particularly impressed with all the technology in the new building.  From the conference rooms to the digital signage to new laptops and monitors, everything has worked seamlessly.” – Jeff Norton

We are excited to have everyone at the new building!

Reserving a Conference Room

Did you know all the conference rooms around the new building are named after Michigan bodies of water? Pictured below is the Mackinac conference room located on the second floor. Conference rooms need to be reserved for use, but reserving them is easy! Employees can reserve a conference room through Outlook, or right at the touchscreen outside of the meeting space. The light on the touchscreen will change color depending on availability.

Virtual Tour!

Take a quick virtual tour of the new building in the most recent drone footage from Freshwater Digital. We can’t wait to see it all come together so soon!

Exterior Progress

A lot of progress has been made to the exterior of the building. Landscaping is planted, sidewalks have been added and we have a finished parking lot! Employees will begin moving to the new building in about a month!

Workstation Sneak Peek!

Have you wondered what the workstations will look like at the new building? Custer describes them in the following way:

Viking’s workstations were designed and configured to promote well being and transparency through the use of height adjustable desks that encourage choice of posture throughout the day, lower panels that allow everyone access to natural light from the windows, and efficient storage space including a personal storage tower that can be used to provide additional privacy while seated. Each user has a desk mounted power unit for convenience and easy access, as well as work tool accessory items to help with organization.  Finishes create a fresh and timeless aesthetic that complement the neighboring architecture and ancillary collaborative settings, all while working within the Viking brand. Users are empowered to do their best work.
